Experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead and grow our Service Department
We are an automotive repair center that is committed to treating people fairly, communicating with people honestly and providing repairs that are of the best quality possible. Our dedication to our customer has resulted in tremendous growth and will be expanding our service area. We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead and grow our Service Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule appointments with customers.
Meet and greet service customers.
Work with customers and technicians to identify required maintenance utilizing historical service data.
Advise customers on necessary/suggested services.
Compute cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to condition specified by customer.
Estimate cost of mechanical, electric, or other repairs.
Enter itemized estimate on service order and explain estimate to customer to gain their understanding of all services provided.
Determine progress of repair/service orders and inform customer accordingly.
Address customer’s questions/needs promptly and professionally.
Ensure comprehensive re-delivery check of customer vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and that all items identified for service/repair have been carried out appropriately and on schedule.
Review results of customer satisfaction surveys with service manager.
Establish long-term positive relationships with customers.
Meet the dealership’s standards for repair/order production.
Sell automotive repair and maintenance to customers
Work actively with customers and communicate on the status of their vehicle
Manage the work of all technicians
Create and manage a calendar of customer appointments
Order parts and maintain parts inventory
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least:
5 years experience in automotive industry
3 years experience as a manager
1-2 years experience as a mechanic or tech
Prefer 1-2 years experience with parts, but not necessary
High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
Valid Montana driver’s license.
Professional and personal appearance.
Excellent communication skills.

The owner of the business, Scott DePriest, is a certified General Motors Mechanic and has a family history in the GM Dealership Business. We are seeking a responsible individual that is very knowledgeable in the automotive field, custom exhaust work, and alignments by working on all makes and models of car, truck, SUV, Light Duty Trucks, and Heavy Duty Semi-Trucks. We retail some semi truck parts, and also do custom muffler and exhaust work. Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. The successful candidate would be ASE Certified and have an associate’s degree in the automotive field.
Job Purpose:
Maintains customers' automobile operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; exhaust work; servicing vehicles and keeping records.
Duties:
* Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
* Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
* Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
* Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
* Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
* Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and servicing.
* Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
* Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
* Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities such as ASE Testing; reading technical and regulation publications.
* Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
Tooling (Must have a thorough starter set of tools, high tooling preferred), Supply Management, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Job Knowledge.
Starting Wages: $13.00 to $18.00 per hour DOE, Based on Qualificaitons and Experience.
